Teen charged after 4 people stabbed in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, police say

Police are investigating multiple stabbings reported near East Hastings Street and Jackson Avenue on the evening of Oct. 22, 2025.

A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged after several people were stabbed in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Wednesday evening, according to police.

The stabbings were reported outside a building at East Hastings Street and Jackson Avenue around 6:40 p.m., the Vancouver Police Department said in a news release Thursday.

“Four people—three men and a woman ranging in age from 33 to 60—received treatment in hospital for stab wounds,” the department said.

Police believe one of the victims was targeted, but that the three others were bystanders.

Officers apprehended the teen suspect elsewhere in the neighbourhood “within hours” and he remained in custody Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

He has since been charged with four counts of aggravated assault.
