Surveillance video shows Delta, B.C., arsonists in action as police renew appeal for witnesses

Police in Delta, B.C., have released dramatic surveillance video as they work to locate the perpetrators of an arson that occurred more than a year ago.

The video, which consists of alternating snippets of a few seconds of surveillance video and a few seconds of black, appears to show two people pouring gasoline around the perimeter of a home on 84A Avenue on April 3, 2025.

In the final sequences, the two masked suspects are seen lighting a piece of paper on fire and dropping it onto the flammable liquid, then running out of the home’s garage and away from the scene.

Police were called to the home, which is in the 11500 block of 84A Avenue, shortly before 4 a.m. on the date of the fire.

They arrived to find the home fully engulfed, and confirmed that all occupants had been accounted for and were uninjured.

The DPD initially put out a statement saying that the cause of the fire was not believed to be suspicious, but it changed its assessment less than 24 hours later, citing unspecified “new evidence.”

On Thursday, more than a year after the blaze, police released the video and photos of the two suspects, renewing their appeal for information from the public related to the incident or the suspects.
