Police seize vehicle in fatal hit-and-run crash in White Rock, B.C.

Mounties in White Rock, B.C., are investigating after a pedestrian was killed in what police believe was a hit-and-run collision Tuesday.

Officers were called to the 15600 block of Cliff Avenue at approximately 12:41 p.m. When police arrived, a bystander was already administering CPR to the victim.

“Despite life-saving efforts, the person was declared deceased,” the White Rock RCMP said in a brief statement Wednesday.

“Based on initial observations, it was believed that deceased had been struck by a vehicle.”

Investigators did not provide any details about the victim but said a suspect vehicle has been located and seized. Police are still working to identify who was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The White Rock RCMP’s general investigation section has taken conduct of the case, with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.
