Police release video of alleged Metro Vancouver porch pirates

Mounties in Metro Vancouver have released video of three people allegedly caught in the act of stealing a package from a porch in broad daylight and driving away in an SUV.

The trio pulled up to the home in South Burnaby just before noon on Dec. 1, according to authorities. The video shows one man and two women, apparently working together to steal two packages.

Police note that these crimes are more common this time of year, as gifts are ordered and delivered.

“These suspects are definitely on Santa’s naughty list,” Burnaby RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the statement.

“A good way to get your name on Santa’s nice list, or at least off the naughty list, would be to turn yourself in before our investigators catch up with you,” Kalanj added.
