Police release suspect photos after 2 gas station robberies at gunpoint in Victoria

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect after two armed robberies at gas stations in Victoria last week—carried out less than half an hour apart.

The Victoria Police Department said the first robbery unfolded at approximately 9:15 p.m. on April 6, when officers were called to a gas station in the 3000 block of Shelbourne Street after a man allegedly pointed a gun at a staff member and demanded money.

About 25 minutes later, police said they received a report of another robbery at a gas station in the 1900 block of Oak Bay Avenue.

Authorities said there were no reports of any injuries in either incident and they believe a vehicle may have been used.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect Wednesday, in hopes someone will be able to recognize him.

The suspect is described as approximately 40 years old, with a heavy build.

He was wearing a blue sweater with a red Reebok symbol, grey pants, a white baseball cap and blue latex gloves at the time, police said.
