Gunfire exchanged between 2 vehicles in Surrey, police say

No arrests have been made after shots rang out in Surrey City Centre Saturday night, according to police.

The Surrey Police Service says officers were called to 105 Avenue and University Drive just after 9 p.m. for reports of gunfire being exchanged between two vehicles.

Police arrived to find several spent shell casings, according to a statement issued Sunday.

Two sedans, one black and one white, reportedly sped away and have not been found. Police added the white vehicle may have a damaged driver’s side windshield.

There were no reported injuries.

“SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken over the investigation. Detectives and other officers, including members of the Integrated Forensic Identification Services, may be back in the area today canvassing for physical and digital evidence,” the statement reads.

“The motivation for the shooting is currently unknown.”
