Early morning Surrey shooting believed to be extortion-related: police

Bullet casings were found outside a home Wednesday morning in Surrey after what police say was another extortion-related shooting.

Officers were called to the residence in Cloverdale near the intersection of 187 Street and 56 Avenue around 4:25 a.m., the Surrey Police Service said in a statement.

“Members attended the location and noted damage to a home and a parked vehicle,” the statement said.

“Fortunately, no occupants of the residence were injured.”

Police believe the shooting was extortion-related but have not yet determined whether the shooting is connected to any other incidents or investigations.
