Several big names in comedy were in town over the weekend for the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival in Vancouver’s Stanley Park, and a group of stars capped it off with a meal at an iconic local restaurant. John Mulaney, Nick Kroll, Zach Galifianakis, Fred Armisen, Jason Mantzoukas and Mike Birbiglia all got together at famed Vietnamese restaurant Lunch Lady on Commercial Drive. “Jason and Zach were in town for a Greek festival, or so I assume,” Kroll wrote in an Instagram post including photos from the Stanley Park sets and the group at the restaurant. “So glad we were all able to meet up for a delicious meal at @thelunchlady. Just lovely!” The eatery was created in collaboration with the late legendary “Lunch Lady” Nguyen Thi Thanh of Saigon, whose soups became world-famous through Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. The Vancouver location holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The restaurant’s social media account left a comment thanking the comedians for stopping by. Mulaney, Birbiglia, Kroll and Armisen were the headliners at Great Outdoors on Saturday. Kroll thanked “the truly fantastic and well-behaved Canadian crowds” throughout the festival, which also had stops in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and Halifax.
