B.C. police seek dash camera video after husband charged with wife’s murder

Mounties are asking the public to submit dash camera video to help with their investigation into a woman’s killing in Merritt, B.C., earlier this month, for which her husband has been charged.

Pamela Jarvis, a 45-year-old mother of six, died in hospital on Dec. 16 after first responders found her suffering from serious injuries in a home they were called to for a “disturbance,” police said at the time.

A suspect fled before police arrived but was later found and arrested.

Jarvis’ husband, 49-year-old Christopher Bernard Jarvis has since been charged with second-degree murder.

The woman’s friend told CTV News that Jarvis feared for her life in the days leading up to her death and called the police on her husband on Dec. 10. According to Dana Egan, police showed up because the man broke down the doors in their house, but officers returned him home five hours later.

In an appeal for information Sunday, the Merritt RCMP requested video from Highway 5A between Merritt and Highway 5, Nicola Avenue and Voght Street the day of the killing between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
