A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly trying to drive a stolen vehicle into a police officer in Quispamsis, N.B. The Kennebecasis Regional Police Force said a member of the public reported a suspicious vehicle driving erratically in Rothesay N.B., Thursday around 11 a.m. Shortly after, police saw the vehicle in a parking lot on Hampton Road in Quispamsis. Police said the vehicle had been reported stolen two days prior. According to police, officers tried to stop the driver and told him to get out of the vehicle, but he did not listen. Police said the driver put the vehicle in reverse and hit the front bumper of a police vehicle. “The driver then sped toward the officer in an attempt to strike them,” said police in a news release Saturday. “The officer was able to jump out of the way and was not injured.” The driver then took off onto Hampton Road, where officers tried to stop him again. That pursuit was called off due to public safety concerns. Kennebecasis police then contacted the Hampton, Sussex and Moncton RCMP detachments for assistance. The driver was located and arrested in the Moncton area. Police said Zachary Moore, 22, was arrested for: He appeared in Saint John court on Friday.
