2 dead after pickup truck crashes into telephone pole in Abbotsford

Two people were killed when a pickup truck crashed into a telephone pole shortly after midnight Thursday, according to authorities.

The Abbotsford Police Department says first responders were called to the 32200 block of King Road around 12:36 a.m.

They arrived to find a heavily damaged pickup truck that had flipped over.

“The two occupants of the truck were noted suffering from life-threatening injuries,” a statement from police reads. “Despite the immediate efforts of civilians and first responders, both occupants tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene.”

The crash is under investigation and police asked anyone who witnessed it or has dash camera video to call 604-859-5225.
