Woman seriously injured after falling from Rockcliffe Lookout overnight

Ottawa paramedics say a woman was taken to the hospital overnight after falling from the Rockcliffe Lookout.

Public information officer Marc-Antoine Deschamps said paramedics were called to the area at around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday. Tactical members used ropes to reach the woman, who had serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ottawa Fire Services rope rescue team was also called in to assist, helping to get the woman up the six-metre cliffside and into an ambulance by 2:30 a.m., according to a news release.

Paramedics continued care on the way to the hospital, where the woman was admitted in serious but stable condition, Deschamps said.
