One person was injured in a targeted shooting in Surrey’s East Clayton neighbourhood on Saturday morning, according to police. The Surrey Police Service said its officers were notified about a shooting at a home near 74 Avenue and 184 Street just after 8 a.m. When police arrived, the shooting victim, a 50-year-old woman, was already being transported to hospital with gunshot wounds in her arm, and the shooter had left the area. Sgt. Ali Gailus confirmed to CTV News Vancouver that the victim was already known to police. Surrey police said the shooting is believed to be targeted, but not extortion-related. The incident is now under investigation by the SPS’s major crime section, who police added will be in the area collecting evidence.
