A special weather statement for Toronto and most of southern Ontario has ended, but rainy conditions remain in the forecast. The city was soaked all weekend as multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms rolled through. The advisory ended shortly before 5:30 p.m. Environment Canada said it will be partly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm this evening. The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) issued a flood outlook watershed conditions statement on Sunday morning. “Current weather forecast suggests a higher potential for flooding from TRCA river systems due to the possible significant amounts of rain, that could cause large amounts of water to flow into and overflow the rivers,” the TRCA said. “If the forecasted rainfall happens, rivers may rise above their normal water levels with stronger and faster flows for the next 2 days.” The TRCA added that shorelines, rivers, and streams in its jurisdiction should be considered dangerous, as rain may cause rapidly changing waters. On Monday, it will be cloudy in Toronto with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 20 C. Sunny skies are expected to return on Tuesday.
