Westbound lanes of Lincoln Alexander Parkway reopen in Hamilton for police investigation

The westbound lanes of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway have reopened in Hamilton following a fatal incident on the highway, police say.

It happened shortly before 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway near the Garth Street overpass.

Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and officers are working to notify next-of-kin.

The westbound lanes were closed from Upper James Street to Garth Street for several hours for the police investigation.

They reopened shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Police are asking any motorists who were in the area at the time to reach out to investigators if they have relevant information or dash camera video.
