An investigation is underway into a shooting in northeast Calgary early Sunday. Police responded to the 4000 block of 104 Avenue N.E. just after 3:30 a.m. They say no one was injured and there’s no word yet about a suspect. It was the fourth reported shooting of the weekend in Calgary. Police believe a man was shot early Friday morning inside a home on the 1400 block of 44 Street S.E. and was transported to hospital in stable condition. At around 11 p.m. Friday, police responded to a home in the 1300 block of 14 Avenue S.W., where they found a man with gunshot wounds who was transported to hospital in critical condition. A second shooting victim fled the scene and police believe he was transported to hospital by someone who was taken into custody and remanded on warrants. Both victims were in stable but life-altering condition. At around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 400 block of Fifth Avenue S.E., where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds under a bridge.. They believe the victim was approached by two men who demanded his belongings. They fought, and the man was shot. No one is in custody for any of the shootings. Police say there is no active risk to the public. It is not clear whether any of the shootings are connected. “Following National Day Against Gun Violence, it’s concerning to see that firearm-related incidents continue to happen across our city, causing real harm and fear in our communities,” said Acting Staff Sgt.
