Toronto man charged after allegedly assaulting parking enforcement officer downtown

Toronto police say a man has been arrested after a parking enforcement officer was allegedly assaulted while on duty in the downtown core.

In a news release, police say the incident happened on Thursday at around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Dundas Street East and Bond Street.

Investigators allege the officer was in the process of issuing a violation notice when a man became upset and assaulted them. Police say the suspect was still on scene when officers arrived.

As a result, 46-year-old Haitao Zhou of Toronto, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
