Prince Albert RCMP investigate Highway 2 robbery

Prince Albert RCMP say the incident happened early morning July 1.

Prince Albert RCMP are asking for help in finding a vehicle and the suspects who allegedly stole it.

In a news release issued Thursday, RCMP said its officers were informed about the incident on Wednesday at around 1:45 a.m.

They were told that four people with a gun threatened three other people before stealing their vehicle at a business on Highway 2 just north of Prince Albert.

According to police, the suspects fled in both the stolen vehicle and their own black SUV.

Mounties say no injuries were reported.

Shortly after, RCMP say they found a vehicle matching the stolen vehicle’s description driving at a high rate of speed on Highway 355 near Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Mounties say they tried to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle kept going, where it last seen travelling west on Highway 263 near Christopher Lake.

The vehicle was described by RCMP as a red 2020 Hyundai Tucson SUV with the Saskatchewan licence plate 754 KSI.

Neither SUV has been located as of Thursday afternoon.

RCMP described one of the suspects as a female who may have pink-coloured hair and was wearing a baseball hat. Another suspect was described as wearing a blue or black plaid jacket.

No identifying features were available for the other suspects.

Prince Albert RCMP are asking anyone with information about the incident or anyone who had witnessed suspicious activity in Prince Albert, Sturgeon Lake First Nation or Christopher Lake to contact the service or to submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
