Saskatoon Exhibition kicks off at Prairieland Park

Saskatoon residents lined downtown streets by the thousands to watch the annual Exhibition Parade Tuesday morning.

There was everything the kick off to the Saskatoon Exhibition would need – great weather, clowns, animals, music, and dozens of unique floats.

The parade was the official start of the Saskatoon Ex at Prairieland Park, which opened its gates at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Carl Schlosser, the events director, says there is something for everyone.

"We've got Ribfest, featuring a number of ribbers that have come in from all over Canada. Also we have Mana, which is basically a cut down version of Cirque du Soliel. It runs 40 minutes, twice a day starting Tuesday. We've got the Flying Fools high dive show, which will be appearing daily. Also new this year, we have Extreme Wild, which is on the north side of the park and features a number of animals; zebras, camels, buffalo, loins, lionesses, buffalo, leopards, wolves. And along with that we're doing camel rides that are going to run daily as well, so for a small price, you get to ride a camel which is something that you don't get to do a whole lot in Saskatoon."
