RM of Buckland declares state of emergency

The RM of Buckland has declared a state of emergency because flooding has led to road access issues.

Less than a week after the last Cumberland House evacuees made it home, another area of Saskatchewan has declared a state of emergency due to flooding.

The Rural Municipality of Buckland, just north of Prince Albert, declared the status Monday. The RM said a voluntary evacuation order has been issued to ten families because of flooded roads leaving them with limited access. As of Tuesday, none had left their homes.

Officials said no homes are in danger of flooding, but the RM is planning to create trenches and put in additional culverts on Gardiner Road.
