Meth, cocaine and fentanyl seized in Lloydminster drug bust

Two men face a series of drug charges following a trafficking investigation in Lloydminster.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) executed a search warrant at a hotel room in Lloydminster June 11.

Officers located and seized:

• $40,000 in cash
• 6.182 litres of gamma hydroxybutyrate
• 243 grams of fentanyl
• 233 grams of cocaine
• 725 grams of methamphetamine

A 23-year-old man and 20-year-old man, both from Edmonton, face multiple charges for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

“This seizure represents a significant disruption to the illicit drug trade in Lloydminster and area,” said Sgt. Aaron Gervais with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster STRT.

“By removing these dangerous substances, and the financial incentives behind them, we are directly investing in community prevention and safety.”

The men are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court in Alberta on Aug. 11.
