Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) says one person was rescued from a two-alarm house fire in Orléans on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to a home on Castle Pines Way in the Chapel Hill area at around 4:50 p.m. Photos from the scene show two homes on the street were damaged by the flames. A senior man was rescued from one of the homes and was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, Ottawa Fire Services public information officer Nick DeFazio told CTV News Ottawa. In a news release, Ottawa Fire Services said the fire was declared under control by 6:42 p.m. Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps said the individual treated for smoke inhalation was released at the scene. A second person was being assessed for heat-related issues, but no serious injuries have been reported. One of the injured people was a firefighter, OFS confirmed, who had a minor injury. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
