1 person rescued from fire in Orléans

Ottawa Fire Services says one person was rescued from a two-alarm house fire in Orléans on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to a home on Castle Pines Way in the Chapel Hill area at around 4:50 p.m.

Photos from the scene show two homes on the street were damaged by the flames.

A senior man was rescued from one of the homes and was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, Ottawa Fire Services public information officer Nick DeFazio told CTV News Ottawa.

No other details about the fire were immediately available.

Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps said the individual treated for smoke inhalation was released at the scene. A second person was being assessed for heat-related issues, but no serious injuries have been reported.
