Saskatoon fire crews were able to safely remove multiple people and a pet from an apartment fire Tuesday evening. Crews were called to the 200 block of Avenue V south shortly after 11 p.m. They arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a third-floor balcony. Firefighters set up ladders to move occupants of the building and their pet from an adjacent balcony. No other residents or pets were inside at the time. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze and confirm there were no injuries to firefighters or residents. The fire has been completely extinguished. A fire investigator is now examining the scene to try identify the cause, origin of the fire and a damage estimate.
