Cold case: Sask. RCMP arrest man found hiding in fridge after break-in

Mounties in northern Saskatchewan are investigating what can be described as a bit of a cold case.

Feb. 19, Battlefords RCMP responded to a break-and-enter in progress at a home on Saulteaux First Nation. Officers found a suspect fleeing the scene and followed his tracks in the snow before locating and arresting him at a nearby home.

Further investigation led officers to believe a second suspect was at the home where the break-in was reported. They returned and found the suspect hiding in a fridge. He was then arrested.

Andy Swiftwolfe, 26, of North Battleford and 24-year-old Luckas Whitford of Saulteaux First Nation face charges related break-and-enter and robbery.

The pair made their first court appearances earlier this week in North Battleford.
