Over $125,000 worth of contraband has been seized at Saskatchewan Penitentiary. According to a news release from the Correctional Service of Canada on Tuesday, cocaine, meth, and THC were seized in packages on June 5, 9, and 11. Officials estimate the institutional value of the seizure at $127,000. “The police have been notified, and the institution is investigating,” the CSC said in the news release. The organization describes itself as a multi-level security federal institution, saying it currently uses measures like ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates and visitors. CSC has set up a telephone tip line for all federal institutions. Tips can include drug use or trafficking that could threaten the safety of visitors, inmates and staff.
