A 75-year-old American woman is dead after a highway collision in northeastern Saskatchewan. Around 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 14, Shellbrook RCMP were called to a collision between two vehicles on Highway 3, about three kilometres west of Mont Nebo. Emergency crews responded to find the sole person inside the car dead at the scene. She’s been identified as a 75-year-old woman from Walterboro, South Carolina. Her family has been notified. The driver of the other vehicle, an SUV, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Shellbrook RCMP are investigating the collision, alongside a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist. Saskatchewan RCMP say as of Aug. 17, there have been 59 fatal collisions with 72 total fatalities in 2026, on roads policed by RCMP. Mont Nebo is located about 77 kilometres west of Prince Albert.
