Two taken to hospital with serious injuries following crash near Fort Qu’Appelle

Two car occupants were airlifted to hospital after a crash with a heavy-duty truck southwest of Fort Qu'Appelle on Wednesday.

Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash near Fort Qu’Appelle on Wednesday.

Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP received a report of a collision between a heavy-duty truck and a car on Highway 10 around 2:50 p.m. Officers, local fire crews, and EMS responded to the scene.

According to an update from Saskatchewan RCMP on Thursday, the sole occupant of the truck reported no physical injuries. However, both the driver and the passenger of the car were taken to hospital by STARS and EMS, respectively, with serious injuries.

As a result of the crash, the highway was closed until shortly before 4:30 p.m., with traffic being rerouted through the town of Fort Qu’Appelle.

A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
