Sask. RCMP seize cocaine, make arrests in Balgonie

Two people are in custody as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Balgonie, Sask.

On Jan. 10, Saskatchewan RCMP officers, the services trafficking response team found two suspects in a drug trafficking investigation at a business at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 46.

A man and a woman from Esterhazy, Sask., both 49-years-old, were arrested along with a third individual.

A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed 58 grams of cocaine, a “small amount” of fentanyl, a sum of cash and other evidence of drug trafficking.

The male accused was charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, while the woman was additionally charged with possession of fentanyl.

The third individual was released without charges.

The accused made their first appearance in court on Monday, Jan. 13.
