Regina Police Service swears in new recruits WATCH: The Regina Police Service has officially sworn in seven new recruits, including the twin sister of a constable.

The Regina Police Service (RPS) has officially sworn in seven new recruits, including the twin sister of a RPS constable.

At the Swearing-In Ceremony on Thursday, Michelle Mamona explained her intention to join the police service.

“Being a police officer in my hometown has always been a dream of mine, and my sister Sara really inspired me to go for my dream as she thoroughly enjoys her job with the Regina Police Service,” she said.

However, RPS has a policy preventing relatives from working on the same shift.

The recruits will begin training next week at the Saskatchewan Police College and are expected to graduate May 30.

They will then receive their badges and begin field training with an experienced officer.

The service will swear in a dozen more recruits in July.
