Here’s how Sask. athletes fared in the Olympic Winter Games

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have come and gone, with Canada taking home 21 medals, including five golds, seven silvers, and nine bronze.

Four of the seven athletes with Saskatchewan ties competing in the Olympics took home medals.

Regina’s Ben Hebert, playing with Team Canada’s men’s curling team, earned a gold medal on Saturday after defeating Great Britain in the final.

Saskatoon’s Emily Clark played with the Team Canada women’s hockey team, who took home the silver medal.

Saskatoon’s Darcy Kuemper and Brandon Hagel took home a silver medal in men’s hockey on Sunday.

Both men’s and women’s U.S. hockey teams took home gold.

Maia Schwinghammer from Saskatoon placed fifth in women’s freestyle skiing, while Regina’s Mark McMorris landed eighth in men’s snowboard slopestyle.

McMorris experienced a crash landing during Big Air practice earlier in the Games, forcing him to miss that event.

Regina’s Logan Pletz placed 17^th with his team in the men’s biathlon relay event.
