The Regina man accused of killing Tanya Myers is seeking bail after initially being denied it last year. Chris Fahlman, 43, has submitted a bail review application to the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan. Fahlman stands charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Myers who was riding as a passenger in a vehicle that was driving on Highway 39 near Weyburn in September 2025. Additionally, he has been charged with one count of intentionally discharging a firearm while being reckless as to the life and safety of another person. Myers was 44. The evidence presented at Fahlman’s bail hearing in November of 2025 is under a publication ban. In his submission to the Court of Appeal, Fahlman argues the bail judge made numerous errors in his initial decision to deny bail. His submission also states there has been a “material and relevant change in circumstances such that detention is not justified.” Fahlman’s notice of application was filed in Regina on June 15. A date for a hearing had not yet been set as of Monday, July 6. The accused has been in custody since he was first charged with manslaughter related to Myers’s death on Nov. 1, 2025, before the charges were upgraded later in the month. RCMP say another vehicle was also struck by a bullet around the same time as the vehicle Myers was in was shot at.
