A man and a woman are facing multiple charges after being stopped for a stolen licence plate on Coventry Road in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Police say the vehicle was stopped shortly after 12 a.m. after officers received an alert form the cruiser’s Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) camera on the road. Upon investigation, police found and seized a replica firearm, drugs, and multiple stolen pieces of identification. The 43-year-old man and the 36-year-old woman are facing six counts of identity theft - obtain or possess another persons identity information, one count of possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose, six counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of instruments of forgery and drug-related charges. They are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
