A veteran Ontario Provincial Police officer is facing serious allegations related to a child exploitation investigation. Provincial police say a months-long investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at the accused’s home in June. During that search, police seized a number of electronic devices from the suspect’s Alliston, Ont., home. As a result of the investigation, police charged 54-year-old OPP Sgt. Chris Weise with one count of accessing and one count of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material. Police say Weise is a 28-year OPP veteran and is currently on an unrelated leave of absence. He is scheduled for a court date in early October.
