Police investigating armed robbery at Ottawa bank

Ottawa police are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery at a bank in the city’s west end.

Police say at approximately 2 p.m. on Jan. 10, a lone suspect entered a bank in the 700 block of Baseline Road, near Fisher Avenue, brandished a black handgun and demanded money.

“He then went behind the teller stations and left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash,” police say.

No physical injuries were reported.

Police say the suspect is described as a male, approximately 5′10″, with an average build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing an olive-coloured winter coat with black sleeves, dark pants, black shoes, a balaclava, ski goggles and carrying a black duffle bag.
