A 36-year-old rideshare driver is facing a charge of sexual assault. The Ottawa Police Service says investigators with the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit launched an investigation on Saturday into an alleged sexual assault. Mohamed Laarous is facing one count of sexual assault. No other information about the investigation was released. Police say investigators believe there could be “other victims in and around the Ottawa area, as Laarous was a rideshare driver for Uber and Lyft.” Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944.
