Ottawa police investigating bank robbery on Main Street

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a reported bank robbery Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the Scotiabank on Main Street at Hawthorne Avenue at 9:49 a.m. for a robbery in progress, police said.

Several officers responded and blocked the area while the investigation was underway.

Police said just before 11:30 a.m. that the police operation in the area had concluded. The investigation remains ongoing. A police spokesperson told CTV News Ottawa that no arrests have been made.

Damage to a fence and a back door could be seen at the branch Tuesday afternoon.

Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps told CTV News Ottawa that paramedics were not called to the scene.

Ottawa police said no officers were injured during the operation.
