More flurries in the forecast after first snowfall of the season in Ottawa

The winter weather is expected to hang around Ottawa this week, with flurries expected today and a chance of flurries over the next four days.

Ottawa received 11.7 cm of snow on Sunday, the greatest snowfall on Nov. 9 in Ottawa’s history. The previous record was 10.2 cm set on Nov. 9, 1897.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries this morning. A few flurries are expected this afternoon. High -1 C.

Flurries ending this evening and then cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. Low -4 C with the wind chill making it feel like -10.

Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, with a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the morning and early in the afternoon. High -1 C.

Wednesday will be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers. High 3 C.

The outlook for Thursday calls for cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries or showers. High 3 C.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. High 1 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high 6 C and a low of -2 C.
