Kingston, Ont. police investigating group assault linked to outlaw biker gang

Police in Kingston, Ont. have arrested and charged seven people in connection with an assault over the weekend that investigators are linking to an outlaw motorcycle gang.

In a news release, police say officers were called to an apartment building on Queen Mary Road at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, following a report that several people were assaulting someone.

The victim was found with non-life-threatening injuries. Four people were arrested at the scene, all of whom police say are believed to be affiliated with an unspecified biker gang. Three other people were arrested on Monday.

The seven accused persons, ranging in age from 35 to 62 years old, are charged with break and enter, assault, and possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace. They remain in custody. None of the accused was identified in Tuesday’s news release.

The Ontario Provincial Police-led Biker Enforcement Unit is assisting in the investigation, Kingston police said.

Vehicle fire believed to be targeted

A vehicle fire that was reported on Sunday is also under investigation as a potentially targeted incident, Kingston police said.

The incident happened at around 7:15 p.m. Sunday near Braelorne Place and Pembridge Crescent. According to police, the investigation revealed that an incendiary device was used to set the vehicle on fire.

“Investigators believe that both of these incidents were targeted and are currently looking into the possibility that they are related,” police said.
