Wine Growers British Columbia and the Okanagan Wine Festival Society have announced B.C.’s top 50 wines for 2026. Top prize went to Penticton’s Laughing Stock Vineyards, which was named B.C.’s winery of the year. Its 2023 syrah was named the province’s wine of the year. The top 50 wines were selected in a blind tasting held in Kelowna last week, according to organizers. A total of 31 wineries made the list, with several having multiple individual wines selected. “B.C.’s top 50 shows a wine industry operating with real precision, intent, and confidence,” said Jeff Guignard, CEO of Wine Growers British Columbia, in a news release announcing the awards. “These are premium wines with a strong sense of place, and they reflect a region that is rapidly earning its place on the global stage.” B.C.’s wine industry employs more than 14,000 people and generates approximately $3.75 billion in economic activity annually, according to Wine Growers British Columbia.
