A popular restaurant along the Rideau River in Manotick has closed its doors for good. The owners of Kelly’s Landing Restaurant posted on Facebook the restaurant closed for the final time on Friday. “I am retiring and will not be reopening the restaurant next spring,” said the post, signed by Dan and Sonja Dunbar. “I would like to take this time to thank all the amazing customers we have been fortunate enough to serve over the years and, most importantly, our very loyal and hard-working employees. Without all of you, we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what we did.” Kelly’s Landing is a waterfront restaurant and patio located on the Rideau River. It opened in 1997. Customers expressed sadness about the closure of Kelly’s Landing Restaurant on Facebook. “It’s hard to imagine summers without Kelly’s Landing Restaurant,” said one post. “I’m so sad but so happy to look back on my amazing summers working at Kelly’s! Thank you for being the best bosses and giving me such great memories,” said a former employee. Another post said, “the best place to visit on the Rideau River.”
