A 41-year-old woman was killed, and a 35-year-old man was seriously injured in an apartment in Montreal’s Saint-Michel neighbourhood Monday afternoon, police say. Montreal police (SPVM) have yet to determine if it’s a homicide, but confirmed that the death is suspicious. Police say they received a 911 call at 2:25 p.m. reporting an injured person in the apartment on 39e Street, near the intersection of Paul-Corbeil Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man and a woman with injuries caused by a “sharp object,” explained police spokesperson Jeanne Drouin. “For the time being, the causes and circumstances of the incident remain to be determined,” Drouin added. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man remains in critical condition in the hospital. Police have set up a perimeter around the scene as they continue their investigation. This is the 16th homicide on Montreal police territory.
