Windsor police have charged four people with impaired driving after separate incidents over the weekend, including three at the border. On Sunday, shortly after midnight, officers responded to a call of an unresponsive woman in a vehicle in the 4600 block of Seminole Street. Officers located the woman hunched over in the driver’s seat while the car was running. Police say when she woke, officers observed signs of impairment, including sweating, pinpoint pupils, and a flushed face. Officers say they located and seized 1.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, 3.2 grams of suspected cannabis, and a pipe with suspected fentanyl residue from the vehicle. The woman was arrested and transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where she failed a Drug Recognition Expert test. The 41-year-old woman has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a schedule 1 substance. Also on Sunday, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers at the Ambassador Bridge stopped a male driver who showed signs of impairment. Officers say they located an open bottle of alcohol in the center console. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where he failed an additional breath test, blowing three times over the legal limit. The 23-year-old man has been charged with operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or exceeding 80 mg%. Shortly after 4 a.m., CBSA officers at the Gordie Howe International Bridge stopped a female driver who was showing signs of impairment. She was arrested and transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where she provided a breath sample that registered at three times over the legal limit. The 23-year-old woman has been charged with operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or exceeding 80 mg%. On Sunday shortly before 7:30 a.m., CBSA officers at the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel stopped a female driver who displayed signs of impairment. She was arrested and transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where she failed a breath test. A 29-year-old woman has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or exceeding 80 mg%.
