Gatineau residents head to the polls for municipal election

Residents of Gatineau will be taking to the polls Sunday to decide who will be mayor of the city for the next four years.

This year’s incumbent, Maude Marquis-Bissonnette, was elected Mayor of Gatineau in a June 2024 mayoral byelection, winning with 41.68 per cent of the vote.

The incumbent mayor running under the Action Gatineau banner will be competing against Masson-Angers district Coun. Mario Aubé of the Équipe Mario Aubé party, as well as Rémi Bergeron who is running as an independent.

Voters will also be electing 19 city councillors in Sunday’s election.  

Polls opened at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
