Fans suit up for weekend of cosplay and collectibles Ottawa Comiccon Winter Edition

Ottawa Comiccon’s 2026 Winter Edition drew in fans for a weekend of costumes, comics and more.

Costume-clad Ottawans are out for a weekend of fun, shopping and cosplay at the 2026 Winter Edition of Ottawa Comiccon at the EY Centre.

The pop-culture fan convention features more than 150 artists and vendors, offering art, video games, T-Shirts, comics, graphic novels, toys, statues, replicas, collector items and more.

“It’s an opportunity to come and look for that geek item that you’re missing. Maybe it’s a Funko Pop, maybe it’s a labubu, a poster. Whatever you’re looking for in that sense. Anything geek related,” says Scott Perón, VP of operations at Ottawa Comiccon.

All genres and interests are represented, including sci-fi, horror, anime, gaming in all its forms, bande dessinée and comic books.

Fans are encouraged to come showcase their best cosplay and dress as their favourite characters.

Alexandre Lacelle-Le Breton, who showed up dressed as Naked Snake from the video game “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater,” says he has not missed a comiccon and loves dressing up in Cosplay.

“I love making costumes. It’s really my hobby,” Lacelle-Le Breton said. “I love making them and interacting with other people. There are amazing costumes and I just enjoy the atmosphere.”

The fan convention is also an opportunity for fans to meet new friends.

“I can meet new people that have the same interests as me. I can meet beautiful cosplayers that cosplay from the same video game as me or same anime,” says attendee Ellie, who was dressed as Nefer from Genshin Impact.

The event began on Saturday and ran until Sunday at 5 p.m. Ottawa Comiccon Winter Edition is free to attend.
