A 72-year-old man is facing charges following an investigation related to allegations of sexual assault involving two minors in Tay Valley Township between 2018 and 2023, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Police say the man was arrested and charged Tuesday, which is the day the investigation started. The suspect has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age and two counts of sexual interference. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday. Officers say they will not be releasing the name of the suspect to protect the identity of the victims. The OPP says it encourages victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault to come forward.
