Cops seek suspects after armed men seen threatening SUV occupants in Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Two men are being sought in Peterborough after police say an armed suspect threatened the occupants of a parked vehicle.

The incident happened Thursday night when police say officers responded to a 911 call about two men, one holding a handgun, who were trying to force people from an SUV (on Reid Street.)

Police say the driver managed to drive away and the suspects ran into a home on the street.

The Emergency Response Team was called in and four people were removed from the home, but police say the two suspects weren't found inside, and are believed to have fled on foot.

Officers remained at the scene Friday awaiting the execution of a search warrant and the roads and sidewalks in the area -- which had been closed -- have since been reopened.

The occupants of the SUV have yet to contact police and the investigation is continuing.
