A possible meteor was spotted streaking across the sky in Ottawa on Tuesday night. Video from a doorbell camera sent to CTV News Ottawa shows a bright green light falling across the sky in Stittsville at approximately 9:15 p.m. Footage was also captured by a viewer in the Findlay Creek area. The Backyard Astronomer Gary Boyle tells CTV News it looks like a meteor or “even space junk, but most likely a small piece of the leftover material that created the solar system.” Boyle says Earth receives about 100 tons daily of meteor debris. According to the International Meteor Organization, there were reports of a fireball sighting in Ontario and Quebec Tuesday night, including in the Clarence-Rockland, Orléans and the Stanley Corners area of Ottawa.
