2 injured in 7-vehicle crash on Highway 417 in Ottawa

Two drivers were taken to hospital after a crash involving seven vehicles on Highway 417 in downtown Ottawa Sunday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police posted to X at 3:07 p.m. reporting a multi-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes near Bronson Avenue.

Several lanes of the highway were closed for about one hour, according to Ministry of Transportation traffic cameras. All lanes have since reopened, OPP said in a post on X.

An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson told CTV News no one was taken to hospital but later said two people were transported with minor injuries by ambulance.

Four vehicles required towing, police said in an email to CTV News.

Ottawa OPP say an investigation continues.
