1 person taken to hospital after crash on Hwy. 417 near St. Laurent

Ottawa paramedics say one person has been taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 417 near St. Laurent Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened in the eastbound lanes between St. Laurent Boulevard and Cyrville Road at around 3:35 p.m.

Nicolas Guertin, acting superintendent of communications at the Ottawa Paramedic Service, said one person was assessed at the scene and transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

No other details about the individual were immediately available.

Traffic on the eastbound lanes was reduced to a single lane near St. Laurent while emergency crews responded.

Lanes reopened at around 4:15 p.m.
