Ontario Provincial Police in Temiskaming Shores have charged two women following a drug trafficking investigation that began in August. “On Sept. 21, at 10 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop involving two individuals as part of an investigation into drug trafficking in the area,” police said in a news release Friday. “Officers seized a quantity of substances suspected to be illicit drugs, including suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and crack cocaine.” A 42-year-old Temiskaming Shores woman and a 56-year-old Cobalt woman were both charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Police said the accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Cobalt women was released and is scheduled to appear in a Haileybury court Nov. 10.
